Hi Amigos!
Just a quick note to mention that I have a show tomorrow November 6, at one of my favorite Texas listening rooms - The Bugle Boy in La Grange Texas. Please check my tour dates for details and ticket link. I apologize that an error occurred and this date was not posted. I will be accompanied by my long time pal and always great guitar player, Marvin Dykhuis.
It is sure to be a fun and celebratory event, especially in the light of our recent Blue Wave that finally took over our state in the recent election!! I am so encouraged by James Talarico and Gina Hinojosa’s and all the Democratic candidates wins. It was a long time coming, but I am thankful, especially of our younger generations that voted for this positive change.
I have been asked by many fans and friends, (even European friends who also followed the Texas race), if I am related to Gina. Well, the Family Tree answer is yes. All the Hinojosas from the Rio Grande Valley and northern Mexico, where my father was from, came from the Hinojosa ancestors that came from Spain and the Canary Islands back in the 1700’s. The other answer is no, I don’t know her personally. I am still very proud that we will have a Latina and a Hinojosa as our Governor! I do hope I get a chance to meet her and shake her hand. (And maybe take part in her inauguration as I did for Ann Richards in 1991!)
Well, thanks friends for accepting this brief note about the Bugle Boy show and my for my quick chance to express my enthusiasm and hopeful happiness for Texas’ future!
